YG MARLEY & SPECIAL GUESTS: LAURYN HILL, THE FUGEES + BUSTA RHYMES (COACHELLA 2024)

For YG MARLEY'S 2024 COACHELLA performance, this was an origin story of Black excellence and royalty. We included prominent figures that championed freedom of thought and expression, pride in your identity, spirituality, equality and justice. These visuals were presented with unique use of lighting and beautiful architecture as we’re traveling through different dimensions. We use the elements of stars, space, light and energy as transition elements that will transport us throughout space and time on this journey.

For BLXST’s Coachella performance, the visuals were loosely based upon the story of a Chauffeur Service called ‘Evgle and Sons’, taking the audience through destinations and points of interest highlighting BLXST’s experiences on his own personal journey.

Every experience and location isn’t necessarily rooted in reality but more so, they represent a mental and emotional state. We created what that feeling looks like but still in an environment that is more true to life and scale.

MORA (August 2023)
For MORA’s Latin Tour, he jouneys on a psychedlic trip with this woman and coming down this high into a blissful euphoric experience. This trip incorporated the themes of realism, surrealism and fantasy distorting time and humanity. Mora is on a emotional rollercoaster with this woman who he loves but the relationship is toxic and knows she isn’t good for him but the emotional and sexual attraction keeps him coming back. We used doors, shapes and objects as portals to transition for each world to the next. As well as utilizing negative space as a way to enhance realism throughout Mora’s psychedlic trip.

MORA (Vina Del Mar Festival in Chile, c.Feb/2024)
For Mora’s performance, the visuals were a continuation from the pyschedilic trip on Mora’s Latin tour. This will be a surreal journey. Mora is on a high, so this journey is a happy and liberating experience.
We used mouth shaped portal as the main structure and for transitions into each world. We also included some prominent landmarks that represents the Latin culture Mora comes from and placed them in surreal landscapes.

BIG SEAN (Coachella, c.2022)
For Big Sean’s Coachella performance, we explored the concept of the “Heroe’s Journey”. The “Hero’s Journey” explores the ups and downs of Sean’s journey as a public-facing person. Through architectural landscapes, each space represents different milestones + experiences, the vision of this underdog turned champion, was to make a statement. A lot of people over the years have doubted Sean’s lyrical abilities, some even predicting he wouldn’t last long in this game but this performance sent a message that he IS here to stay.

BABY KEEM (Coachella, c. 2022)
For Baby Keem’s performance, we explored the concept of an underwater world called the “The Melodic Blue”. The Melodic Blue is based on Mother Nature. The Melodic Blue is a place that isn’t good for Keem but he keeps getting pulled in and can’t resist. We imagined structures through 3D enviornmental builds that told a story about the journey Keem goes through.
